Role Overview:
Designing Alley is looking for a passionate and experienced Automation Engineer with 5+ years of industrial experience in automation, robotics, and control systems. This role involves designing, developing, and implementing automation solutions for manufacturing and production environments. You will work on robotics integration, PLC programming, and system optimization, collaborating with cross-functional teams to deliver innovative and efficient solutions.

Key Responsibilities:
Design, develop, and implement automation systems to enhance productivity and efficiency.
Program and configure PLCs, HMIs, motion controllers, and industrial robots.
Integrate sensors, actuators, control systems, and vision systems for seamless automation.
Conduct troubleshooting, debugging, and optimization of automation systems.
Collaborate with mechanical, electrical, and software teams for end-to-end project execution.
Perform system testing, validation, and documentation for all projects.
Support installation, commissioning, and maintenance of automation equipment.
Ensure adherence to industry safety standards and compliance regulations.
Stay updated on emerging technologies in automation and robotics.

Required Qualifications & Skills:
Bachelor's/Master's/Ph.D. in Mechatronics, Robotics, Electrical, Electronics, Embedded Systems, or related fields.
5+ years of experience in industrial automation or mechatronics projects.
Strong understanding of mechatronic systems, pneumatics, hydraulics, and electrical control systems.
Expertise in industrial sensors, actuators, and motion control systems.
Proficiency in PLC programming and SCADA (Siemens, Allen Bradley, Beckhoff, or similar).
Ability to interpret electrical/mechanical schematics, wiring diagrams, and technical drawings.
Knowledge of safety standards (ISO, CE, IEC, OSHA) for automation.
Hands-on approach with a problem-solving mindset and passion for innovation.
Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, startup environment and collaborate effectively.

Good to Have (Bonus Skills):
Programming knowledge in Python, C/C++, MATLAB for control interfaces.
Familiarity with IoT, Industry 4.0, and ROS (Robot Operating System).
Exposure to machine vision systems (Cognex, Keyence, OpenCV).
Experience in CAD tools, additive manufacturing, and cobots/mobile robots (AMRs/AGVs).
