We are hiring Head Chef for Meriton

Meriton is a multifaceted Family business located in a leafy, pond side business park in the heart of Botany, we are Monday to Friday and transform in to an events space after hours and on Weekends. Along with occasional corporate events on weekdays.

The position:

We are of European backgrounds, but offer modern Australian cuisine within the café. Ultimately a chef with a flare for specials and skills in many different cuisines would be ideal.

We have a daily Chef cabinet, that changes daily and ranges from, but is not limited to. Italian, Middle Eastern all the way to South East Asia.
You would be working alongside our current kitchen team and managing, mentoring & guiding junior staff to assist in the day to day running of our kitchen.

Duties will include but are not limited to:

Working alongside Kitchen team to produce our daily menu and creating daily cabinet
Organization and guidance of junior team to ensure running of the kitchen is cohesive
Have a real passion for food, and enhancing our customer experience
Requirements and skills

4+ years of experience as a Chef / Head Chef
Cert IV in Commercial Cookery
Technical cooking skills and understanding of kitchen management
Experience in running a busy pass section and overlooking all dishes before leaving kitchen
Organized & clean
Understanding of FIFO
Excellent kitchen and staff management, with a fair and inclusive dynamic
Details

38 hours per week Monday to Friday + Overtime rates Saturday Sunday if requested.
